| Camp Veli Jože |
Camp "Veli Jože" is a camp for children and young people, located on the westernmost part of the Istrian peninsula, not far from Savudrija — the oldest harbor on the Adriatic. In the vicinity is the first Adriatic lighthouse, built in 1817, measuring 36 meters in height, whose light is visible from a distance of 17 nautical miles (32 km).
The camp has an area of 330,000 m 2 of Mediterranean park with trees, grassy terrain and coastline.
At one time, the area of the camp and Savudrija were occupied by the Roman settlement of Salvore, which means “health.” The exceptional climatic conditions were the inspiration for the former name of the settlement as well the selection of this locality as a camp for children and young people. |

The climate is particularly healthful. A blend of Mediterranean and Alpine climates creates a pleasant microclimate ideal for vacations, with nights that are neither hot nor humid.
The vicinity of the historical and cultural region of Istria provides opportunities for numerous excursions into the interior of the peninsula, including Buje, Motovun, Groľnjan, Pazin, Roč and Hum or along the coast to Umag, Novigrad, Poreč, Limski Channel, the island of Brione and Pula. . |

Accommodations are provided in dormitories and camp trailers. There are also facilities for campers’ own tents and auto trailers.
The camp has a reception area, lavatories, shops, restaurants and exchange bureau.
The areas for camping are divided into categories, and are equipped with connections for electricity and water. The roads and paths are illuminated at night.

Food service is provided on the large terrace for 500 campers and on the small terrace for 150 campers. Both terraces are located along the coast with a view of Tršćanski Bay. |

Beach and Recreation Areas |

A beach of 1,800 m in length extends along two sides of the camp, and a small pier has been built for rowboats.
The camp area has been cultivated as a Mediterranean park with trees, grassy surfaces and fields of flowers. Many paths and roads cut through the camp.
The camp also includes a variety of sports facilities. A multi-purpose sports stadium for basketball, volleyball and five-a-side soccer with bleachers for 1,200 spectators is equipped with sound and light systems. There are also two handball, four basketball and two volleyball courts, a court for beach volleyball, four courts for streetball, a miniature golf course, table tennis equipment and numerous areas for various recreational activities. |
